He is loved as the remover of obstacles. Beginning with Ganesha is a way of saying: Let us slow down, listen carefully, and start with a good heart.

Families and traditions explain Ganesha's form in different ways. These are a few simple ideas for children to think about.

Our living tradition

Seven days together

Ridgemoor is one part of the wider Garner community. For seven days, families and neighbors gather for poojas, share a potluck, and cheer one another through cricket, pickleball, and tennis.

We pray

Some lead. Some follow. Some simply stand quietly and learn.

We play

Teams compete, but neighbors cheer for effort, courage, and good spirit.

We cook

Every dish carries a family's taste, story, and generosity.

We help

Many hands decorate, organize, serve, clean, welcome, and care.

The joy is seeing everyone bring the celebration to life together.

Many doors into one celebration

Many ways to belong

A festival can hold many kinds of participation. One child may love the pooja. Another may wait all week for cricket. Someone may help arrange flowers. Someone else may bring their best potluck dish.

What matters is that we notice one another, make room for one another, and leave the community stronger than we found it.

Clay, rain, and return

Why is Ganesha made of clay?

Ganesh Chaturthi arrives during the rainy season. Families have traditionally shaped Ganesha from clay, the same earth softened by the monsoon.

For a little while, the clay has a face. We decorate it, offer flowers and food, and gather around it. When unpainted natural clay is returned to water responsibly, it softens and becomes earth again.

Make.
Care.
Let go.

Let the celebration leave love and memories behind, with as little waste as possible.

At the games

Invite someone new onto your team. Cheer every good play, whoever makes it.

At the potluck

Ask someone about their dish. Learn the story or memory behind it.

At the pooja

Listen with curiosity. Help a younger child understand what is happening.

Afterward

Pick up, clean up, thank a volunteer, and leave the space beautiful.

కలిసి గడిపే ఏడు రోజులు

రిడ్జ్‌మూర్ విస్తృత గార్నర్ సమాజంలో ఒక భాగం. ఏడు రోజుల పాటు కుటుంబాలు, పొరుగువారు పూజలకు వస్తారు, పాట్‌లక్‌లో భోజనం పంచుకుంటారు, క్రికెట్, పికిల్‌బాల్, టెన్నిస్ ఆటల్లో ఒకరినొకరు ఉత్సాహపరుస్తారు.

కలిసి పూజిస్తాం

కలిసి ఆడుతాం

జట్లు పోటీపడతాయి. కానీ మంచి ఆట, ధైర్యం, క్రీడాస్ఫూర్తిని అందరం మెచ్చుకుంటాం.

కలిసి వండుతాం

ప్రతి వంటకంతో ఒక కుటుంబపు రుచి, జ్ఞాపకం, ఉదారత మన ముందుకు వస్తాయి.

కలిసి సహాయం చేస్తాం

అలంకరణ, నిర్వహణ, వడ్డింపు, శుభ్రత, ఆహ్వానం - ఎన్నో చేతులు కలిసి పనిచేస్తాయి.

అందరూ కలిసి ఈ వేడుకకు జీవం పోయడం చూడటమే ఆనందం.

మనం ఒకరినొకరు గమనించడం, ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ చోటివ్వడం, వచ్చినప్పటికంటే మరింత బలమైన సమాజాన్ని వదిలి వెళ్లడం ముఖ్యం.
